Colour: Dark brown, almost black

Antennae: Has distinctive "L" shape.

Distinguishing features: Long snout called a rostrum

Larvae are pests of: Whole grain cereals such as wheat and barley

Damage: Pests of food

Adults eat: Small amounts of cereal

Often found on: These are not collection pests but have been found on objects stuffed with wheat grains. They are also found on whole grain rodent baits.
