Collections and storage
Collections can present a wide range of possibilities for insect infestation. It can make things easier to group vulnerable objects together to allow them to be checked easily. Alternatively, mark the boxes in some way so that those that contain vulnerable collections can easily be found.
How storage furniture is installed can help or hinder IPM. Having gaps underneath racking will allow cleaning. If furniture is fitted to the floor clean the area first and then seal around the bottom of the furniture. Use powder coated steel if possible as this resists rust and is resistant to insects.
