 Adult beetle.

Size: 2-4mm

Shape: rounded

Colour: variegated white, black and gold scales.

Antennae: small, tight club.

Distinguishing features: scales are triangular. Adult is larger and more greyish than the Varied Carpet Beetle.

Larvae are a pest of wool, fur, feathers and other animal protein.

Damage is small neat holes often with cast larval skins and gritty frass.

Adults eat pollen and nectar.

Often found on windowsills
