Distinguishing features: Quite leathery in appearance

Larvae are pests of: Old cereals but are also found in birds' nests

These are not museum pests

Often found: From birds' nests and disused chimney flues, particularly in late spring/early summer. In museums with live lizards and snakes they may be used as food and escape.
