Size: 1.5-2.5mm

Shape: Oval

Colour: Brown

Antennae: Medium with a club

Distinguishing features: Hairy abdomen and thorax. 

Larvae are pests of: mouldy grain

Damage: Larvae can occasionally damage damp paper and books

Adults eat: Not known

They are indicators of high local humidity. One or two specimens do not indicate a problem, large numbers indicate that the damp source needs to be investigated.
