Shape: small moth with wings along back

Colour: silvery grey

Antennae: long

Distinguishing features: brush of orange hairs on head and two indistinct marks on each wing

Adults eat: very little

Larvae are pests of: protein such as wool textiles, fur, feathers etc

Damage: grazing and larval cases and frass, ragged holes

Often found on: textiles,carpets,natural history collections and in birds nests
