Distinguishing features: Male has thin, twisted wing cases and is completely different from the female which is much larger and wingless.

Larvae are pests of: Natural history collections and also feed on dead insects

Damage: Grazing and frass

Adults eat: Very little

Very rare in the UK but is an important pest in parts of the USA.
